Greenville police announce arrest of woman in homicide of infant known as Julie Valentine

Greenville police have announced a break in the decades-old murder of an infant known as Julie Valentine.

Chief Ken Miller said Brook Graham, 53, was charged with homicide by neglect after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Graham is being held without bond.

Miller called the crime an “unfortunate and terrible murder of a defenseless infant,” and credited advancements in technology for the arrest.

In February 1990, the baby’s body was found in a vacuum cleaner box off of Verdae Boulevard, on Hilton Street, Miller said…

… Through DNA technology, investigators were able to identify the baby’s father. The man said Graham had to be the infant’s mother because she was the only person he was having sexual relations with at the time.
